Nothing will floor you more than a beautiful floor! So it was with great pleasure that we turned up to see progress and found the flooring peeps going at full pace to get the Timber Flooring down.
It's quite apprehensive to pick a colour nearly 9 months ago and wonder if it's actually going to work. But we needn't have worried, it looked great. Not only that the trimming quad, which in some displays had a hell of a time matching the flooring itself, matched flawlessly!
Who's the prettiest floor then? You are! Yes you are!!
The only thing that would show up such a magnificent floor was the carpet...
What are the odds of THAT happening...
Along with the carpet came shower screens and all the wonderful things that go in Bathrooms!
So that should just about do it for this update...... Wait what!!
Roller doors!
Yes, as we ramp up to handover, all the trades are coming thick and fast. Painters are back to do some fixing up and paint the outdoor areas (Alfresco, Balcony, Front Verandah). Kitchen Concepts were back to fix up cabinetry bits and pieces. Splash back was installed, along with door furniture and other various nick knacks! Over the next weeks we should be getting pretty close to done. Can't wait!

Now I've Had The Tile Of My Life
Weeee'rrrreeee bbbaaaaacccckkkkkk!
My the weeks fly when you're having fun or there isn't much going on! We had quite a lull in building between the painters finishing off and the tiling getting started. But finally in they came and tiling they did!
Starting with waterproofing which made us question our colour design when we saw how amazing chromakey blue looked!
Perfect for the news weatherman in all of us!
Once that had gone off (48 hrs) The tilers came in and we finally got to see if the selections made on a table in a showroom, would work in proper bathrooms and laundries.
And... phew. Big relief! It all looked quite fab! A little hiccup with the wrong grout going in in our ensuite and downstairs powder but easily fixed and finished.
They also got a chance to lay the tiles on the balcony. Front verandah and alfresco will be tiled and finished once heavy trades have finished so nothing gets damaged.
Once the tilers packed up their soupy water buckets, we thought there may be a delay in proceedings but the electricians AND plumbers arrived!!
Oh yes! A bath!
The guys really cracked on and by the end of this week most of the electrical had been completed and the plumbers were well into fit off!
Really exciting that the end is in site. Plumbers should be done this week, as will the electricians. Even a chance that wardrobe fit out may commence this week. Still got a lot to do but it's enough to start the packing at the rental. Hopefully the updates will go back to weekly as we get close to finish!

Just A Lick Of Paint
Just a small ish update today after a little delay! The plasterers have finished the fix ups and tweaks and the painters moved on in!
Lovely bunch of chaps the painters, and after only a few days their first phase is almost done!
I say first phase, apparently due to the tilers, electricians, plumbers and everyone else on earth to do with final fixes, the house will get quite knocked around, so they'll be back for constant fixes.
Really thrilled with the wall colour (Kitty Grey for those playing at home) and can't wait to see the feature wall colour in place (Thunderbolt). They should, all going well, be done today which opens the door for the tilers to come in!
Mmmm shiny doors!
We also had a peek under the protective ply at the Benchtops which have also gone in. Really happy as this was the replacement stone after PD stopped supplying Essastone.
Will head back later today for a last look at hopefully a fully painted house!
Looking forward to the next update when the bathrooms should look more like... we'll... bathrooms.

Caaaaaabinetry.... Is such a lonely word.
What an exciting update we have today! The house started last week looking every bit the empty shell of the building it once was...
It started with the sneaky drive by and reporting back to the foreman (read Wife) that a van was there that we hadn't seen before! It didn't take long to realise that it was either thieves emptying an already empty house OR... Cabinetry! The answer was of course... Thieves.
However after they had realised that you can't steal what ain't there, the cabinetry indeed arrived along with the chippies again!
Most of the cabinetry went in on the first day, with further tweaking/installation on the second day.
I love a good galley!
The games room and study fitout we designed and got PD to quote on as an extra came up really well!
Lights would make this look better...
Bathrooms, Cinema and Family all in!
But enough about the cabinetry. The lads were in at the same time doing all the Architrave and Skirts.
Was so exciting seeing a real finish starting to go in and they again did a great job!
Mmmmm Front door with lock.
A window... yes... a window.
At the same time all this activity was going on, Gary and the framing lads were back to put the roof frames on the garage and alfresco.
So all in all a fantastic week and for the umpteenth time, we can't thank everyone enough for their efforts. The 'Fix' bill is in and we are onto tweaks to plaster and internals ahead of the painters coming in... thats right.... painters. So until next time, enjoy the olympics and Go Straya!
